It was a beautiful Winter afternoon. +5 to be exact and it was the last nice day we’ve had until recently. I drove out to Elbow Falls to meet Kim and Brook. Not only was I meeting them on location to do their engagement session but it was my first time meeting them in person, ever! Kim and I had chatted back and forth via email and phone and her and Brook hired me to photograph their engagement and upcoming wedding simply through communicating online.
It’s always a bit more nerve wracking when you haven’t met the clients in a face to face meeting before going into any shoot. I mean what if they didn’t like me?! Or let’s be honest, what if we didn’t “connect”?! I almost always insist on an in person meeting first to make sure we’re a good fit. But due to them living in Lethbridge, it just didn’t work for us beforehand.
Kim and Brook arrived and walked up to say hello as I stood outside my Jeep. I was instantly in love with both of their personalities and warmth! They are both SO kind, sweet and I just really connected with them right off the bat. Phew! Haha. I could tell it was going to be an awesome session from that moment on and all my nervousness was gone!
We walked around to a few little spots at the falls, chatted about life and their wedding plans. It’s funny because just like 99% of my clients, they were a bit uncomfortable at first and hadn’t had their photos done before. And just like those other clients, by the end; they were in their element. Feeling at ease. Forgetting I was there as they got caught up in their love and emotion.
As you can see by the photos, they are such a sweet couple together. Totally in love and excited for their future. I am SO happy that our paths crossed and that they had faith in my work even before meeting me. I cannot wait to capture their big day, VERY soon! Oh and side note: Does she not look like Joanna Gaines?! #totalbeauty Stay tuned for more from this beautiful couples’ love story! Xx
