2016 The year in a nutshell!

So, with the hustle and bustle of the holiday season upon us and a new year just around the corner, I thought I would take a minute (before I get too busy with the holidays and forget!) to talk about what 2016 has meant for me and my little business and how much I appreciate all of you!

This year has without a doubt been a BIG one for my business! Not only did I leave my day job to pursue my Photography career full time, I also rented a studio space for 12 months and had the opportunity to start shooting indoors. I joined an awesome group of Wedding Industry people at Event Core. I was in three trade shows (The first ones I have EVER been in!).  And I think the biggest change for me was when I changed the name of my business from Melanie Dawne Photography to Grey Lily Photography, after having used that name for almost 5 years!

I have to say that it was when I changed my business name that things really started falling into place for me. It was like with this new name, this new look; I felt a confidence in my work that I hadn't felt before. I feel like Grey Lily is exactly what it should be. It is the best reflection of myself and of my work.

This year held 5 Weddings photographed (and 6 Hair and Make Up), which is the most I have ever done in one year to date. And I am already looking forward to 2017 with SEVEN weddings booked (so far!!!) ♥ I had countless Lifestyle sessions with families, children and pets which have always had a special place in my heart. And no matter how busy wedding photography gets for me in the future, I will never stop photographing families. I just love it too much!

I am so grateful for everything that has happened in 2016. And it is all because of the amazing support I have had from my family and friends and my wonderful clients! It is all because of you! ♥♥♥

Your constant support, your kind words, your referrals and your love has made my business what it is today! I couldn't have done all of these things nor continue to pursue my dream "job" without each of you. Every "like" on a photo, every image or post shared, does not go unnoticed. You guys are awesome! ;)

I look forward to what 2017 has in store for Grey Lily!  I hope all of you will continue to follow me on my journey, whether on social media or in real life. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Much love to all of you in the New Year. Merry Christmas!!!

Melanie, xo
